Design is not decoration outside nature. It is a relationship between materials, species, communities and time.
Three proposition directions
Each entrant or team may submit up to two proposition entries in total. Select the original brief and its specific category, then explain the ecological value and implementation pathway.
Circular Materials & Low-carbon Living
Industrial product design and packaging design. Respond to material life cycles, durability, reduction and circular use in real contexts.
Blue-green Ecologies & Shared Habitats
Short-film design and animation design. Use moving-image storytelling to build understanding between people and living systems.
Open Categories
Six fields of practice
Open-category entries may address any theme, provided they demonstrate a clear relationship to ecological design, sustainability, social innovation or responsible ways of producing and living.
Visual Communication & Information Design
Poster design, brand identity, type design, publication design, illustration, infographic design, environmental wayfinding, public-interest communication and data storytelling.
Product, Material & Packaging Design
Industrial product design, household products, furniture, mobility, material experiments, circular packaging, repair systems and product-service models.
Architecture, Interior, Landscape & Environment
Architecture and adaptive reuse, interior space, landscape, planning, public space, ecological infrastructure and temporary construction.
Digital Media, Interaction & Service Design
Website design, app design, interactive installations, animation design, film, games, digital experiences and public services.
Art, Photography & Public Art
Painting, sculpture, photography, moving image, installation, sound art, public art, mixed media and ecological art practice.
Fashion, Textiles & Craft Innovation
Fashion, fibre, jewellery, accessories, traditional craft, responsible production, sustainable fashion, dyeing and textile experiments.

Proposition and open entries are judged separately. Every confirmed winner receives a verifiable digital certificate.

What to prepare
Submission materials
Provide the work title, entrant or team details, track and category, a project statement, one cover image and one to three presentation boards. Video entries may include an MP4 and must include a still cover.
Originality and AI disclosure
Entries must be original. Generative AI may support research, sketches, visual development or code, but its material use must be disclosed. Entrants remain responsible for rights clearance and factual accuracy.
Publication rights
Entrants retain copyright and grant the organiser permission to use submitted work for judging, exhibitions, editorial coverage, the website and non-commercial competition promotion with attribution.
